For best filtration and longer pump life, always match your Sandmaster filter size to your pump’s flow rate. Oversized filters reduce backwashing frequency, improve water clarity, and save energy by allowing shorter run times.  A pump that is too big for your filter will vortex the sand and not filter but a filter can never be too big.
